am i using too many products and does steaming your face clear your skin?
i have heard that steaming your face clears out the dirt and oil but i never actually tried it. how do i do it and is it actually worth my time? i was also wondering if the facial care products that i use are too much for my skin or not.
i have combination skin and i use:
Clean and Clear Morning Burst Scrub (not the shine free kind)
Clean and Clear Daily Toner
Clean and Clear Deep Action Refreshing Gel Cleanser
when i have a pimple or my forhead is covered in small bumps or pimples, at night i apply Clearasil Maximum Strength Acne Ttreatment Cream

from my experience, using the same brand like you're doing (Clean and Clear) doesn't make anything worse. conflicting brands can sometimes make acne worse. i don't really know what steaming is but here's a good treatment:
wet a towel and then wringe it. put it in the microwave and warm it up so it's warm but not hot.
rub ur face w/ it so ur pores open.
wash ur face thoroughly with any sort of facial cleansing soap u might have. this will take the bacteria out of your pores.
rub a cold towel over ur face to close ur pores.
good luck...
Effective Skin Care Treatment
Even though I am well into my thirties, I've been battling my acne problem ever since I was a teenager. I learned long ago(even though it was difficult to accept at first) to accept the fate that my genes dealt me, so I have become accustom to using acne skin care products as part of my daily skin regimen. And now that my children are entering their teen age years, I am concerned about what may be in store for them. Thankfully, while they have had an odd pimple or blackhead now and then, they have not come down with full-blown acne yet.
One of the things I have learned throughout my years is that when it comes to skin care products, adults and teens have vastly different needs. For instance, I have discovered that majority of the pimple creams and acne cleansers from Oxy, Clearasil, and other manufacturers that target teen-ager's are too harsh for my face. Sure, I once used those products when I was still in high school, but I have come to realize that my face is much more delicate now than it was fifteen years ago, so I need to use skin care products designed for adults.
My skin care regimen is not very elaborate, but it is very effective at controlling my problem acne, so I am happy with my acne prevention program. I start off using a mild cleanser that was recommended by my dermatologist, and then I follow it up with a non-alcohol toner. Next, I use a 2% benzoyl peroxide acne treatment, followed by a healthy dose of moisturizer. I also have a tendency to use an anti-aging cream on occasion to help ward off those fine lines that like to appear around my eyes. These five skin care products only cost me around $30 a month, which is not bad at all, especially because of the great results I have been getting.
When it comes to my teens, I prefer to take them in to see the dermatologist at least once to get an overall evaluation and some treatment recommendations. I have already talked to them about the importance of using effective skin care products early on, and sticking to a skin care regimen that works. With all of the "maximum strength" creams and cleansers that are available today, I have come to realize that they aren't necessarily the answer. Some of these products can leave you with a red, flaky, and irritated face. Who wants to walk around looking like that?
When I combine my teens skin care products to my own bill, I'm spending around $50 per month. Or at least that is what the retail prices would be, but I got smart and stopped paying retail price years ago! Instead, I buy all of my skin care products online from discount beauty supply websites. These websites carry all the great creams, toners, lotions, and cleansers that we use, and they also offer the best prices that can be found. I am currently saving about 30% to 50% on all of my purchases, which has made a huge difference in my budget. My personal favorite website is Revitol Natural Skin Care Store.
Using the proper skin care products is a must for looking your best no matter what your age may be. Go and visit your dermatologist for a checkup and evaluation. Then, save yourself some money and make your purchase online. I have been using this routine for years and It's been working great, so take my word for it!
